I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

Once that’s done, give us a ring, no matter what the day or time is. We will be there rapidly to get things sorted.

While waiting, remove any important things close to the leak, and mop up any water or put a bucket to catch the drips. If you have turned the mains water off, switch off the hot water heating as well.

Help, I don’t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.

Remember, a lot of appliances and fixtures have their own isolating valves also.
